Melanie Gorman

Melanie Gorman is the driving force behind the thriving Ask Mars Venus phone coaching program. A trained mental health therapist and the director of operations for the Mars Venus organization, Melanie crafted the relationship and dating curriculum that is administered to Ask Mars Venus clients over the phone, and developed the virtual training program from which all coaches must graduate before they can begin working with clients.

Even with all of her other obligations, Melanie stays true to her roots and continues to serve as a coach. “It is my longstanding goal to help clients overcome their resistance to getting help and realize that Ask Mars Venus is here for them, that this program was designed specifically for them,” she explains. “Everyone has unique needs, and we make it our job to serve each caller, no matter their relationship concerns.”

In addition to the Ask Mars Venus Coaching program, Melanie created the popular Mars Venus Forums—with over 30,000 members it is one of the largest relationship message boards on the Web—to enable the general public to communicate with each other about their dating and relationship concerns. In addition, forum contributors and visitors can read practical advice about relationships in the posts made by Ask Mars Venus Coaches and moderators.

Melanie has an M.A. in counseling psychology from Lewis and Clark College and a B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland. Her education and experience have enhanced her ability to analyze the needs of people who would search for relationship education and assistance over the phone, and enabled her to craft a program that would assuage their concerns and provide the necessary support.
